To provide a method of manufacturing a toothed belt which makes it unnecessary to use a tooth cloth having a specifically high extensibility and also makes it unnecessary to use the one formed to be tubular and which makes it possible to narrow a belt width with the density of a core wire increased.
A tooth form composed of tooth peak portions and tooth bottom portions between the peak portions is given to the surface of a rubber sheet 1 by molding. The tooth cloth is stuck on the rubber sheet 1, from the surface of the tooth peak portions to that of the tooth bottom portions. The rubber sheet 1 is put, with the toothed surface inside, on the outer circumference of a vulcanizing mold having a tooth form for vulcanization provided on the outer circumference in correspondence to the tooth peak portions and the tooth bottom portions. The core wire is wound on the outer circumference of the rubber sheet 1 and also a rubber sheet for the back part is wound on the outside of the core wire. Then, vulcanization is conducted.
