To provide a belt preventing crack and damage of a belt back surface occurring under a high loaded condition, wear and damage of belt end surface due to movement of the belt to a pulley flange part and maintaining regular operation of an engine by reducing friction coefficient of material used for a tooth part of a toothed belt.
This invention relates to the toothed belt formed by providing a plurality of tooth parts 32 along a longitudinal direction of the toothed belt 5 having core wire 1 embedded in a back part 2, and covering a surface of the tooth part 3 with tooth cloth 4. Dynamic friction coefficient of the tooth cloth 4 used for the tooth part 2 is kept less than 0.2. As the method for that, tooth cloth which consists of polytetrafluorethylene fiber and nylon fiber is used for fiber material constructing the tooth part.
