PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top allowing stably and firmly winding a string around a top body while suppressing an increase in cost of manufacture of the top body, and allowing an inexperienced user to easily turn the top body.SOLUTION: A top 1 includes: a top body 2; a jig 4; a string 3; a winding auxiliary part 21 projected and formed from the jig 4 along the axis line of the top body 2 in a state that the jig 4 is mounted on a bottom 5; and an engaging mechanism which has an engaging recess 12 one of the top body 2 and the jig 4, and an engaging projection 18 engageable with the engaging recess 12 on the other, and regulates the relative rotation of the jig 4 to a direction of winding the string 3 around the top body 2 by engaging the engaging recess 12 and the engaging projection 18, and on the other hand, allows the relative rotation of the jig 4 to an opposite direction to the direction of winding the string 3 around the top body 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
