To provide a torch capable of improving the combustion efficiencies of a fuel gas and a combustion-supporting gas by blowing out not only a combustion-supporting gas but also a fuel gas from separate plural nozzles and suitably arranging the plural nozzles for the fuel gas and plural nozzles for the combustion-supporting gas, respectively.
This torch for synthesizing glass fine particles used for forming a base material for quartz glass optical fibers is constituted as follows: a burner face where a nozzle 1 for a glass raw material gas is disposed at the center and where plural nozzles 3 for the fuel gas and plural nozzles 2 for a combustion-supporting gas are disposed around the nozzle 1. Concretely, e.g. the following means is adopted: a nozzle 1 for a raw material is disposed at the center of a burner face 4, and plural nozzles 3 for a combustion gas and plural nozzles 2 for a combustion-supporting gas are alternately disposed around the nozzle 1 on concentric circles having their centers at the center of the nozzle 1 and different in their diameters.
