Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission which can suppress abrupt heat generation caused by a slide in a thrust bearing of a power roller in a deceleration-side gear change state that a rotation number of the power roller becomes large.SOLUTION: In a thrust force impartment structure 100, a cavity diameter Dof an input-side disc 2 is set larger than a reference cavity diameter D, a curvature radius Rof a traction face 2A of the input-side disc 2 with which the power roller contacts is set smaller than a reference curvature radius R, a cavity diameter Dof an output-side disc 3 is set smaller than a reference cavity diameter D, and a curvature radius Rof a traction face 3A of an output-side disc 3 with which the power roller contacts is set smaller than the reference curvature radius R. By this constitution, in a deceleration-side gear change state that a rotation number of the power roller becomes large, abrupt heat generation caused by a slide in a thrust bearing of the power roller can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
