Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission which can increase a thrust load of a thrust bearing of a power roller as an input rotation speed becomes large when performing a gear change so that an output rotation speed is stabilized with respect to the variable input rotation speed.SOLUTION: A toroidal-type continuously variable transmission comprises a first pressing device 12 for pressing both discs 2, 3 by a pressing force corresponding to passage torque to a direction in which the discs approximate each other. The toroidal-type continuously variable transmission comprises a second pressing device for pressing both the discs 2, 3 to a direction in which the discs approximate each other so that a thrust force acting on a power roller 11 becomes large as a rotation speed of the input-side disc 2 becomes large. The second pressing device comprises a first hydraulic chamber 73 and a second hydraulic chamber 74 for generating pressing forces by centrifugal hydraulic pressure. The first pressing device 12 is arranged so as to press the output-side disc 3 toward the input-side disc 2, and the second pressing device is arranged so as to press the input-side disc 2 toward the output-side disc 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
