Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable of preventing interference of a disc and a power roller, another disc, a trunnion, a yoke and the like by restricting a moving amount of the disc.SOLUTION: An axial clearance gap g between a first piston portion 83 and a second piston portion 84 of a pressing device 80 is determined to be a maximum moving amount of an input-side disc 2 by necessary axial force, in a case when the first piston portion 83 is kept into contact with the second piston portion 84, and the second piston portion 84 is functioned as a stopper S for restricting the movement more than the maximum moving amount of the input-side disc 2 to prevent application of excess axial force, thus interference of the input-side disc 2 and a power roller 11, a trunnion, yokes 23A, 23B and the like can be prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
