To provide a hinge which is fitted to an article having a rotary body like a lid or an opening/closing door, in a similar manner as the case of a commercially available metal hinge, and is capable of adjusting the torque according to the weight and shape of the rotary body of the article to which the hinge is fitted.

The torque adjustable hinge comprises first and second leaves having mounting holes, and a pivot rotatably connecting the leaves to each other and rotating together with the first leaf. The second leaf includes a plastic braking member which is tightly fitted to the pivot and is provided with a barrel part and a parallel extension part, a holding metal piece having an inner peripheral surface corresponding to an outer peripheral surface of the braking member, a bolt which is fitted and fixed to the second leaf and goes through pierced holes of the parallel extension part of the braking member and the holding metal piece, and an adjusting nut screwed to the bolt.
