Title:
TORQUE CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010025210
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a torque converter which can reduce inputted vibration while suppressing the deterioration of power transmission efficiency.

A friction mechanism 40 which can impart rotational resistance to a pump impeller 21 and a turbine runner 23 by a friction force is arranged at the torque converter 10, and when a lockup mechanism 30 does not perform lockup, and a stator 25 is stopped, the friction mechanism 40 imparts the rotational resistance to the pump impeller 21 and the turbine runner 23. By this, even if power accompanied by vibration is inputted, the vibration can be reduced by the rotational resistance. Furthermore, when the lockup mechanism 30 performs the lockup, the friction mechanism 40 stops imparting the rotational resistance. By this, when the lockup is performed, the deterioration of the power transmission efficiency resulting from the impartment of the rotational resistance can be suppressed. As a result, the inputted vibration can be reduced while suppressing the deterioration of the power transmission efficiency.
