Abstract:
To provide a torque converter capable of suppressing an increase in an axial length of the device.
A torque converter includes: a housing to which a rotational power of a power source is transmitted; a doughnut-shaped torus part that is housed in the housing and transmits a rotational power of a pump impeller on an input side to a turbine runner on an output side through a fluid; and a clutch mechanism housed in the housing and allowing the housing to be engaged with and separated from the pump impeller. At least part of the clutch mechanism is arranged in a space radially inside in an axial length of the torus part.
