Abstract:
To provide a torque converter capable of reducing dragging loss which is generated in a washer provided between a crankshaft and a cylinder block.SOLUTION: The torque converter, which is provided with a lock-up clutch for switching between engagement and disengagement using a pressure difference between working oil supplied into a lock-up chamber and working oil supplied into a converter chamber, includes a closing member for closing the engine side front end of a central oil path formed inside an input shaft, an oil path provided in the outer periphery of the input shaft for communicating the central oil path and the lock-up chamber, a first sealing member provided between an oil path forming recessed part formed in the inner face center of an engine side cover of the torque converter and the input shaft for sealing the working oil to be discharged from the oil path to the oil path forming recessed part, at the side of the oil path, and a second sealing member provided between a support part of a lock-up piston and the input shaft for sealing the working oil to be discharged from the oil path along the outer periphery of the input shaft to the side of the torque converter, at the side of the oil path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
