Abstract:
To prevent clogging caused by contaminants, and to secure a stable operation state.SOLUTION: A torque converter comprises a front cover rotated accompanied by the drive of an engine, a pump impeller rotated integrally with the front cover, a turbine runner which is rotatable accompanied by the pump impeller via working oil, and a lockup mechanism which can be engaged with the front cover. A space surrounded by the front cover and the pump impeller is formed as an oil operation space, a capturing part which protrudes to the outside from an external peripheral face the front cover, and in which at least a part of an internal space is formed as a storage space for storing contaminants in the operation oil is arranged, a partitioning plate located in a state of partially contacting with an inner face of the capturing part in a non-rotation state of the front cover is arranged, and a clearance is formed between the partitioning plate and the inner face of the capturing part by deformation of the front cover by a centrifugal force in a rotation state of the front cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
