To provide a torque damper of a fluid transmission device, which suppress friction generated between a roller and an intermediate spring seat member to the minimum, simultaneously prevents an inclination of the roller, makes the roller always roll on the internal peripheral face of a cylindrical housing, and can stabilize a torque damping characteristic.
The intermediate spring seat member 45 for receiving energization forces to the outside of the radial direction from both coil springs 43 is interposed between both the adjacent coils 43 out of each spring aggregate 34, a roller housing recess 47 opened toward the internal peripheral face of the cylindrical housing 31 and a pair of bearing holes 48, 48 opened at both sides of the roller housing recess 47 are formed at the intermediate spring seat member 45, a roller 50 which can roll on the internal peripheral face of the cylindrical housing 31 is housed in the roller housing recess 47, and spindles 51 protruding from both-side surfaces of the roller 50 are rotatably pivoted to the bearing holes 48 so that the roller 50 may be floated from the internal peripheral face of the roller housing recess 47.
