To provide a torque detection device capable of reducing capacitors and highly accurate resistances to be used.
In this torque detection device, an alternating voltage is applied to a series circuit by a coil L1 whose inductance is changed corresponding to a torque to be detected and a coil L2 for temperature compensation, and to a parallel circuit with the series circuit by two resistances R1, R2, and the torque is detected based on a first voltage at a connection node A between both coils L1, L2 and a second voltage at a connection node B between the two resistances R1, R2. The device is equipped with a first sampling means 12 for sampling the first voltage in one half period of a period synchronized with the alternating voltage and a second sampling means 11 for sampling the second voltage in the other half period of the period, and has a constitution wherein the torque is detected based on voltages sampled respectively by the first sampling means 12 and the second sampling means 11.
