Abstract:

To provide throttle equipment which can cause a vehicle to run at a specified speed for evacuation, when the vehicle has failures.

A coil section of a torque motor is made by winding a primary coil 52 and a sub-coil 53 around an iron core 51. When a failure in a control system of a defective throttle is detected, since the main coil 52 is disconnected or due to other problems, supply of power to the main coil 52 is stopped, and current is supplied to the sub-coil 53. The magnitude of torque produced by the torque motor 20 when the sub-coil 53 is energized is about 20-30% of the maximum torque produced, when the mail coil 52 is energized. If a driver steps on the accelerator when a failure occurs, the opening of a throttle valve 13 is made smaller than the full opening and results in the throttle valve 13 opening at a specified angle from the full closing position, so that a specified quantity of air can be supplied continuously to an engine and the vehicle can run for evacuation at a specified speed.
