Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a torque sensor in which the detection of a torque and the detection of the abnormality of a torque detection circuit can be performed with a simple circuit constitution.
SOLUTION: The inductance of a sensor coil 41 is used as the inductance L of an LR oscillation circuit 22. A signal having a cycle which is proportional to the inductance L is oscillated by the main oscillation circuit 22. The signal is waveform-shaped by a pulse shaping circuit 23 so as to be output to a timer input 31 in a microcomputer 30 as a torque signal. Then, the microcomputer 30 computes the cycle of the torque signal, and it computes a torque which corresponds to the cycle. In addition, the abnormality of the main ocillation circuit 22 can be detected on the basis of the cycle A of the torque signal and on the basis of the pulse width B of a monitor 1 signal. With this constitution, a circuit which applies a sine wave to a torque detection circuit and a circuit or the like which A/D-converts the torque signal is not required.
