Title:
TORQUE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3746795
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a diagnosing apparatus by which partial or collective failure can be detected.
CONSTITUTION: This torque sensor comprises an input member 2, an output member 5, a LED light source 20, a pair of photodetector units 28a, 28b to receive light from the LED light source, and a signal processing apparatus. The signal processing apparatus receives the output signals form the photodetector units 28a, 28b and the output signals of the photodetectors 28a, 28b depend on the receiving photosignals of the units and the signal processing apparatus so processes the output signals of the photodetector units 28a, 28b as to generate deformed output signals indicating the relative angular movement or the torque between the input member and the output member. A diagnosing apparatus to continuously monitor the sum signal Σ, which is the sum of the output signals of the photodetector units 28a, 28b is installed and the diagnosing apparatus detect the alteration of the sum signal due to a failure of a sensor.
