Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate early the slip condition of wheels by distributing much torque to wheels having no slip when a difference in the rotational difference between front and rear wheels takes place and throttling to reduce the output of an engine when a plurality of wheels slip. CONSTITUTION:The output of a transmission 2 is distributed to front and rear wheels by a center differential gear 3, while a portion of torque for the front wheels is distributed to the rear wheels through a hydraulic multiple disk clutch 6. A torque split controller 100 is provided which receives the output signals of various sensors for detecting the running conditions. This controller 100 generates a clutch controlling signal for controlling the torque distribution on the basis of a difference in each average rotational frequency between the front and rear wheels. Thus, the clutch 6 is controlled to distribute torque to the front and rear wheels having no slip while a throttle opening controlling signal is generated to throttle the opening of a throttle and reduce the output of an engine when slips on at least three wheels are detected.
