Abstract:

To provide a restrictor structure that restraints torsion of a jet pump assembly arranged between a reactor pressure vessel wall and a core shroud wall.

Disclosed are various torsional restraint systems 1000 for torsionally restraining a jet pump assembly, wherein the jet pump assembly includes a riser pipe 30, a transition assembly on the riser pipe 30, and a restrainer bracket 100 connecting first and second inlet mixers 50A and 50B to the riser pipe 30. The torsional restraint system 1000 includes a first contact member 240 operatively attached to a side of the jet pump assembly and a second contact member 240 operatively attached to the side of the jet pump assembly and disposed from the first contact member 240 such that the first and second contact members 240 restrain the riser pipe 30 from rotating about a centerline of the riser pipe 30.
