To provide a touch panel for freely deciding a region in which wirings are arranged, with a smaller frame region, and also for selecting a material of an input substrate from a various kinds of substances.
A touch panel 1 includes an input substrate 2 to be pressed for input; a counter substrate 3 disposed facing the input substrate 2; oscillators 7x, 7y disposed on the face of the counter substrate 3 facing the input substrate 2; receivers 8x, 8y disposed on the face of the input substrate 2 facing the counter substrate 3; wirings 19 disposed on the face of the input substrate 2 facing the counter substrate 3; and a conductive material 21 to connect terminals 15 on the counter substrate 3 to the wirings 19 on the input substrate 2. Since the elements 7x, 7y, 8x, 8y and the wirings 19 are disposed on the different substrates, the touch panel 1 may freely locate the wirings 19, and may reduce the frame region. Since surface elastic waves are formed on the counter substrate 3, the input substrate 2 may be made of a resin film not of a thin glass.
