To provide a touch panel which is ready for increase in contrast and decrease in thickness and weight in a display device and low in cost.
The touch panel is provided with one or more circularly polarizing plates that are arranged between a λ/4 plate and a protective film whose retardation value is at most 20 nm so that the absorption axis of a polarizing film forms an angle of from 20°to 70° between the protective film and the slow phase axis of the λ/4 plate. In addition, a first translucent substrate having at least a transparent conductive film on one side and a second translucent substrate having at least a transparent conductive film on one side are arranged by making the above transparent conductive films facing each other so that the first translucent substrate may be on the visibility side, and the thickness of the circularly polarizing plate is at least 80 μm and at most 300 μm.
