PURPOSE: To easily connect lead-out terminals with each other and reduce the time required by key scanning by applying voltages across both ends of linear conductors intersecting each other at right angles and calculating the pressed point of a touch panel from a change in the voltage value across both ends by a change in resistance value produced when the conductive bodies are brought into contact with each other.
CONSTITUTION: Two sheets 1 and 2, on each of which plural parallel linear conductors x'1Wx'4 and y'1Wy'4 are wired, are faced to each other with a minute clearance between them in such a way that the corresponding conductors x'1Wx'4 and y'1Wy'4 of the sheets 1 and 2 can intersect each other at right angles. Under a condition where voltages are applied across both ends of the conductors x'1Wx'4 and y'1Wy'4, the touched point of this touch panel is calculated from the changes in voltage values across both ends of the conductors x'1Wx'4 and y'1Wy'4 by the changes in the resistance values which take place when the point is depressed by a finger, etc., and the conductors are brought into contact with each other. Therefore, the number of lead-out terminals of the conductors can be reduced and, even when the space among the conductors is depressed, the depressed point can be estimated. Thus connection between lead-out terminals becomes easier and the key scanning time can be reduced.
