PURPOSE: To provide a touch system electronic lighter capable of securing high safety by preventing dangerous spark generated when it is not used.

CONSTITUTION: When the switch 2 is closed, fuel gas is ejected and a condenser 4 is charged by connection of a transister Tr9. When the voltage of the condenser C4 became higher than switching voltage, switching element 7 is put on and a thyristor S6 becomes turn-on, which is turn, feed the discharging current from the condenser C4 to a primary coil of a ignition transformer 5 and the lighter is lighted by the spark in a secondary coil thereof. A pair of touch electrodes 13, 14 are short-circuited by finger upon operation of the switch 2 and the transistor Tr9 is charged through charge of a transistor Tr10. If a slide switch 8 was moved upwardly by pulling due to a thread and the like entangled thereto in a pocket, the transister Tr10 will never be charged because of the non-conductance between the electrodes 13, 14.
