Abstract:
To provide a touchpad input device and an apparatus with the touchpad input device that facilitate manually written input of characters, etc. while providing perception of operating direction and operating distance through the tactile sense.
The touchpad input device (10) includes a touch operation member with a touch operation surface (30), and a detection means for detecting the presence and the position of an object on the touch operation surface (30). The touch operation surface (30) has a flat first area (30a) and a second area (30b) where a plurality of concave or convex transformed parts (28) are arranged along at least one arrangement direction and spaced apart from each other, as compared with the first area (30a).
