PURPOSE: To obtain a sleeve for rolling excellent in seizure resistance, wear resistance, toughness, etc., by forming an outer layer of graphite-crystallization- type high-carbon adamite material having a specific chemical composition and also forming an internal layer of cast steel having a specific chemical composition.
CONSTITUTION: The outer layer composed of the graphite-crystal-lization high- carbon adamite material consisting of, by weight, 2.0W3.2% C, 0.6W2.5% Si, 0.4W1.5% Mn, ≤0.1% P, ≤0.1% S, ≤2.5% Ni, Cr by 0.5W2.0% and less than 1.5×Si%, 0.2W2.0% Mo and the balance essentially Fe and having a structure consisting of a matrix mainly composed of pearlite, graphite and cementite is formed. On the other hand, the internal layer is formed of the cast steel consisting of 0.2W1.0% C, 1.0W2.0% Si (except 1.0%), 0.2W1.5% Mn, ≤0.1% P, ≤0.1% S, 0.3W3.0% Ni, 0.5W2.5% Cr, 0.1W0.8% Mo and the balance essentially Fe. This internal layer is integrated with the above outer layer by welding to form the sleeve of builtup rolls for rolling.
