PURPOSE: To obtain a unique towel cloth, containing pile parts, protruding into a looped shape at an interval, woven with weft yarns in the form of a ridge, present in the weft yarn direction and having the cross-sectional shape of the pile parts in the form of Ω.

CONSTITUTION: This towel cloth is obtained by arranging pile warp yarns 10 in the full width of the cloth, arranging ground warp yarns 11 in at least a part between the pile warp yarns 10 and alternately weaving woven fabric parts 2 and pile parts 3. The woven fabric parts 2 are woven by entwining several to 10 weft yarns 12 with the pile warp yarns 10 and the ground warp yarns 11. The pile parts 3 are formed by entwining the pile warp yarns 10 with the several weft yarns 12 and protruded in the weft yarn direction in the form of a ridge. Rising base parts before and after each loop formed of the pile warp yarns 10 in the pile parts 3 are joined with the ground warp yarns 11 to afford the towel cloth having the pile parts, having the cross-sectional shape formed into Ω and present in the form of the ridge between the woven fabric parts 2.
