To obtain a towel capable of solving problems such as sense of unleanliness, unpleasantness originating from wool yarn or fluff coiling around hairs and depilation, or the like, while utilizing spongy feeling, gentle touch, preventing effect on rough skin, or the like, characteristic to towel using wool.

This towel is obtained by applying an OFF scale processing to wool in stock stage to remove scales on the surface of wool and applying a hard twist of 600-1700 times/m to the wool in spinning stage and twisting multiple hard twisted wool, and weaving or knitting the twisted yarns into the towel. As a result, the defect of wool yarn coiling around hairs is eliminated by suppressing the wool yarn coiling around hairs due to the OFF scale processing, decrease of exposing surface and the fluff of wool yarn by hard twisting, and the use of the twist yarns results in decrease of exposing surface area to suppress fluffing.
