The towing device for an automobile is provided with a pair of traveling boxes 1, towing tools 2 connecting the traveling boxes 1 to a tow vehicle, and jacks 3 housed in the traveling boxes 1. In a traveling box 1, an upper part is opened to receive a front wheel T of the automobile C, and it has a traveling wheel 4 capable of traveling in a state of receiving the front wheel T of the automobile C. In the towing device, the front wheel T is put in and out of the traveling box 1 in a raised state of a mounting plate 7 of the jack 3, and the automobile C is towed by receiving the front wheel T of the automobile C in the traveling box 1 in a lowered state of the mounting plate 7 of the jack 3.
