Title:
TOWING HOOK INSTALLATION STRUCTURE FOR AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3765249
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a towing hook installation structure by which a bumper stay is securely collapsingly deformed in the axial direction against a collision load.
SOLUTION: When a collision load works on the towing hook 8 in the axial direction, the bumper stay 4 receives the load with its front end wall 4b and starts to collapse-deform. The rear end of the hook stay 7 moves backward relative to the rear end wall 4c of the bumper stay 4 to act as a collapse- deformation guide, surely collapsingly deforming the bumper stay 4 in the axial direction to perform effective energy absorption.
