Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable to propel a vehicle at a variable speed to forward and backward direction by allowing a driving apparatus to engage with teeth of a gear and a rack inside the toy vehicle and doing a reciprocating motion in forward and backward under a control in the track. CONSTITUTION: A lower part driving gear 78 is installed so as to rotate in a gear housing 68 and engages with teeth of a rack when a toy vehicle 60 locates on a track 132. When the toy vehicle is located on the track, a rack swings back and forth or does a reciprocating motion in the track by a rack driving apparatus 40. The driving gear 78 freely rotates only toward one direction corresponding to the one direction of movement of the rack when it is allowed to rotate only toward one direction by an arrangement relation of the claws 86. However, when the rack returns to the opposite direction by the reciprocating motion, movement of the driving gear 78 is constrained and, thus, the toy vehicle 60 is propelled for a distance equal to the stroke of the rack. Further more, a user can control a speed of the toy vehicle propelled along the track by controlling the rotating speed of a handle 42 of the rack driving apparatus 40.
