Title:
TRACK BED TAMPING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3834116
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve optimum tamping by pivotally supporting a first one of tamping units to laterally turnable around an axial line extended in the longitudinal direction of a machine because its tool blades form branch tamping units.
SOLUTION: For tamping under a track panel 4 having a track bed condition, more adaptable tamping units are applied. Operators in an operation room individually control the tamping unit 8, 9 in accordance with the track bed condition or corresponding to the process of a rail with a controller 31. A straight line tamping unit 28 is used in a straight line section with no branch and branch unit 29 is only lowered in a point section or a crossing section. The unit 29 which is blocked into four independent tamping units 30 and a laterally swinging tool blade 23 is adjusted corresponding to the process of the rail, as required. In this way, optimum tamping in the branch section and the straight line section of the track is allowed.
