Title:
TRACK BELT FOR SNOW MOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11124063
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To allow improvement of the traction performance of the snow mobile on the ice or packed snow for eliminating the stud of the belt or reducing the number thereof by forming a plurality of protrusions on the surface of the belt body in contact with earth and a slit having a width smaller than the specified width on the surface in contact with earth where protrusions are formed thereon.

A protrusion 5 substantially protrudes from a belt body 1 for providing sufficient traction performance on the snow. The surface of the protrusion 5 in contact with earth has a plurality of slits 6 each extending in the direction of the width of the belt. It is required to set the width of the slit to 1 mm or less. In case of running the snow mobile, edging effect of the slit 6 may increase the gripping force to the ice surface or the packed snow surface, thus improving the traction performance. As a result, the stud can be eliminated, or the number thereof can be reduced such that the endurance of the track belt can be improved, and adverse influence of the stud to the human body or the environment can be prevented.
