To provide a track coil and a track coil set for a magnetic levitation type railway, each having high energy efficiency.
The track coil for the magnetic levitation type railway comprises: a first coil part 21 on which a conductive member 14a is wound; and a second coil part 22 which is arranged on the lower side of the first coil part 21 and on which the conductive member 14a is wound in the opposite direction to the first coil part 21. The conductive member 14a has a belt-like shape. On each of the first and second coil parts 21, 22, the conductive member 14a is wound so that the cross direction of the conductive member 14a is parallel to the directions of axes C1, C2 of the coil parts 21, 22 and an insulation layer 14c is located between the adjacent conductive members 14a, 14a in the radial directions of the coil parts 21, 22. The first and second coil parts 21, 22 are vertically arranged side by side along a specified vertical plane so that the directions of the axes C1, C2 thereof are parallel to each other, and connected to each other to construct a closed circuit.
