To materialize high-speed and high-accuracy tracking control by directly detecting a directional error angle from a reception level and using algorithm for reducing the effect of variations in the reception level caused by weather and atmospheric temperature.
A directional direction varying means is driven to vary the directional direction of an antenna according to a directional-direction variable pattern for searching for the direction of a target. By driving the varying means, a reception signal of the antenna is input, with the directional direction of the antenna varying according to the variable pattern. A reception level is detected to integrate the detected reception level as to a prescribed integration interval. An integrated value of the reception level of respective integration intervals is output to calculate a reception level integral value ratio A between two integration intervals acquired. This value ratio A and a pattern parameter for determining the variable pattern are input to calculate the directional error angle e by using a prescribed calculation expression. The directional direction of the antenna is varied so as to correct the calculated directional error angle e.
