Abstract:
To improve the performance of tracking a subsequent vehicle in a tracking travel system.SOLUTION: A tracking travel system 1 for making a subsequent vehicle 2F travel by tracking a leading vehicle 2L includes: a leading vehicle sensor 9L which is disposed in the leading vehicle, and acquires a travel state of the leading vehicle containing an accelerator opening; a hydraulic brake device 6 which is disposed in the subsequent vehicle, and applies brake torque to the subsequent vehicle according to a brake fluid pressure; a subsequent vehicle control device 12F which is disposed in the subsequent vehicle, and capable of controlling the hydraulic brake device; and an inter-vehicle communication device 11 which transmits the travel state of the leading vehicle containing the accelerator opening acquired by the leading vehicle sensor to the subsequent vehicle control device. When the accelerator opening of the leading vehicle is returned at a prescribed speed or faster, the subsequent vehicle control device executes preload processing for instantly increasing the brake fluid pressure of the hydraulic brake device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
