PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of deficiency in a drive force and to improve starting and acceleration performance by a method wherein the lower limit value of a throttle command value is set, and the decrease of a throttle command value by a throttle closing command is completed by means of the lower limit value.
CONSTITUTION: A computing circuit 3 to calculate a car speed, equivalent to the number of revolutions of an engine, mating the number of revolutions of an engine and a speed change gear position, a computing circuit 7 to calculate a reference speed from starting control from an average value of the wheel speeds of right and left drive wheels, and a high select circuit 11 to select the one, being higher, of wheel speeds of right and left driven wheels and calculate it as a false car body speed are provided. Outputs therefrom are inputted to a logic circuit 13. When racing of the driven wheel during the starting of a vehicle is detected, a throttle command value is varied to prevent the occurrence of racing. In this case, further a set circuit 17 to output the lower limit value of a throttle command value is provided, and decrease of a command value by a throttle closing command is caused to complete at a lower limit value.
