Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic lane recognition device capable of discriminating the type of a lane marker without using past data.
SOLUTION: This traffic lane recognition device 1 for detecting a white line 30 of a travel road 20 on the basis of a photographic image obtained by photographing the travel road 20 adjacently sets a near side area 41 and a far side area 42 along a vehicle running direction in the photographic image, respectively detects the length of the white line 30 in the near side area 41 and the far side area 42 and discriminates the type of the white line 30 on the basis of the length of the white line 30 in the near side area 41 and the length of the white line 30 in the far side area 42. Consequently, the type of the white line 30 can be discriminated on the basis of one photographic image, and the type of the white line 30 can be discriminated without using the past detected data and the like.
