Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3832955
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic safety system which can make a driver travelling toward a pedestrian crossing recognize a pedestrian in course of crossing the pedestrian crossing and existence of a bicycle and call his attention to the pedestrian and the bicycle.
SOLUTION: During the crossing of a pedestrian trying to cross a pedestrian crossing 1 at night, a road mark 2 erected on both the sides of a road adjacently to the pedestrian crossing 1 and a plurality of road rivets 3 provided on the road surface along the pedestrian crossing are made to radiate light for a specified time together. Thus a driver travelling toward the pedestrian crossing 1 can be easily recognize the existence of the pedestrian, and his attention can be called to the pedestrian to effectively prevent an accident in the pedestrian crossing 1. Since the road mark 2 and the road rivet 3 radiate light together, the driver's attention is strongly called, and when the pedestrian does not exist, they do not radiate the light to avoid economical loss.
