Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by providing a member imparting a restoring property in a sign post body made of synthetic resin inferior in bending property and restoring property, and specifying the hardness of both members.
SOLUTION: A hollow sign post body 1 is formed of hard high-density polyethylene or the like with a low hardness of about D63 in durometer in bending property, and provided with slits 2 at the lower part. In the case of a traffic sign post receiving an external force such as a vehicle collision, the body 1 is easily bent at the slit 2 part to absorb impact. A cylindrical restoring property imparting member 3 formed of polyurethane or the like with a hardness of JISA90 is provided inside the body 1. The lower ends of the body 1 and member 3 are detachably fitted to a base, and the base is fixed to the road surface. The sign post body 1 is therefore formed of low-cost hard synthetic resin so as to reduce cost, and since the sign post body 1, the restoring ability imparting member 3 and the base are respectively detachable, only damaged parts can be replaced at the time of repair so as to reduce maintenance cost.
