PURPOSE: To provide a traffic signal where electric power consumption is small, there is not a failure and a maintaining cost is inexpensive.

CONSTITUTION: The traffic signal is constituted with a case object which can be fit to a supporter 3, etc., which is formed an opining part at its front surface, at least more than two signal display objects 4a and 5a fitted in the case object so as to be seen from the opening part, a cover object 6 covering the opening part of the case object so that at least two signal display objects 4a and 5a can be seen from outside, at least two liquid crystal shutters 9 fitted to one of the signal display objects 4a and 5a, the case object and the cover object 6 so as to respectively cover the front surface of the at least more than two signal display objects 4a, 5a, and a current supply device having a controlling circuits such as a relay circuit, etc., making the liquid crystal shutter 9 transparent/opaque by intermittently supplying current for at least two liquid crystal shutter 9 in order which is previously set.
