Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient absorption of impact during a rear end collision in a short span.SOLUTION: A trailer hitch 1 connected to rear ends of rear side frames 2 comprises fixing plates 3 for fixing rear end faces of the rear side frames 2 on both sides of the trailer hitch. A cross member 5 connects between back faces of both fixing plates 3. A hitch ball support part 6 for supporting a hitch ball 6d is provided at the center of the cross member. The front face upper parts of the fixing plates 3 are supported by hinge arms 12a of fixing brackets 12 fixed to the rear side frames 2 so as to freely swing forward and backward. During a rear end collision, if an impact load is applied to the trailer hitch 1, since the trailer hitch 1 swings to a vehicle body front while being supported by the fixing brackets 12, the trailer hitch is less likely to be bent in front of the fixing brackets 12, and thereby the impact can be absorbed efficiently in a short span.
