Title:
TRAILING-AXLE-BEAM-TYPE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0732833
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of the bump steering while ensuring the lateral rigidity and thereby improve the straightforward travel characteristic of the vehicle by connecting a pivotal movement arm, lateral link, and connecting rod to the axle beam and paired trailing arm while each of them is kept in a specified condition.

CONSTITUTION: An axle beam 10 rotatably supports wheels 12, 14 at both ends respectively. A pair of trailing arms 16, 18 have their front ends pivoted to the vehicle body at a first pivotal axis 24 and have their rear ends connected to the axle beam 10. In this case, one end of a pivotal movement arm 26 is pivoted to the vehicle body at a second pivotal axis 32. One end of a lateral link 38 is pivoted to the other end of the pivotal movement arm 26 and the other end thereof is pivoted to the axle beam 10, whereby the force acting on the axle beam 10 in the direction of the vehicle width is transmitted to the pivotal movement arm 26. Further, one end of a connecting rod 40 is pivoted to the other end of the pivotal movement arm 26 and the other end thereof is pivoted no the axle beam 10 at a position spaced away from the other end of the lateral link 38 in the direction of the vehicle width.
