Title:
TRAIN EMERGENCY STOP DEVICE AGAINST AXLE HEATING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3045488
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a train derailment caused by axle fusion by providing a thermal fuse valve provided on the bearing section of a vehicle, opened in two directions, and sealed with one opening section by a material fused at a high temperature and an air pipe connecting the other opening section of this thermal fuse valve to the brake pipe of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: In case a bearing section closely stuck to an axle spring device 2 is damaged and heated by the rotation of an axle during the travel of a train, the heat is transferred to a thermal fuse 3 via the axle spring device 2. When the temperature of the thermal fuse 3 rises to 180° or above, a fusible plug is fused, the air pressure in a secondary side air pipe 5-2 is released to the atmosphere, and the pressure of the secondary side port of a discharge valve 4 communicating with it is reduced. The discharge valve 4 is operated, the air pressure in a brake pipe is released to the atmosphere through a primary side air pipe 5-1, and the emergency brake device of the train is operated. The train can be safely stopped before the heated axle is fused.
