To provide a tranquilizing effect-imparting agent providing the tranquilizing effects by suppressing renal sympathetic nerve and also by the perfume, to provide a tranquilizing perfume composition containing the tranquilizing effect-imparting agent, and to provide a cosmetic and food and drink having the tranquilizing effect and obtained by adding the tranquilizing effect-imparting agent or the tranquilizing perfume composition.
The tranquilizing effect-imparting agent contains at least one of the compound selected from the group consisting of -damascenone, 4-vinylguaiacol, phenol, 2-isobutyl-3-methoxypyrazine, 3-methylbutanal, 2-methyl-3-furanthiol, 2,3-butanedione and 3-mercapto-3-methylbutyl formate as an active ingredient. The tranquilizing perfume composition contains the tranquilizing effect-imparting agent. The perfume having the tranquilizing effect and the food and drink having the tranquilizing effects are obtained by adding the tranquilizing effect-imparting agent or the tranquilizing perfume composition.
