Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inhibitor which inhibits a transcription factor Nuclea factor-kappa B(NF κ, B) activity to control the onset of various genes and is useful as a therapy-preventive for inflammatory diseases and viral diseases with reduced adverse drug reaction by using a specific 4H-1- benzopyran-4-one derivative as an active ingredient.
SOLUTION: This inhibitor includes a specific 4H-1-benzopyran-4-one derivative of the formula (R1 is an alkyl, an alkenyl or the like; R2 is H, an acyl or the like; R3 is H, cyano or the like; R4 is H, nitro or the like; R5 is phenyl, thienyl or the like; Z is O, S or the like; broken lines are single or double bond) or its salt as an active ingredient. As the compound of the formula, e.g. 3- formylamino-7-methylsulfonylamino-6-phenoxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one is illustrated. This compound is usually administrated once to several times at a daily dose of 5-1000 mg per an adult.
