To provide a transfer apparatus and a method for making a finger for transfer apparatus which has excellent wear resistance and can be operated at high speed.
The finger 23 provided in the transfer apparatus 20, has a weight lighter than the conventional finger because this is constituted of an aluminum-base complex material. In this way, even in the case of driving the transfer apparatus 20 at higher speed than at the conventional one, the transfer of a work can stably be performed without opening the fingers 23, 23. Further, this finger has excellent wear resistance and is difficult to mark hitting trace because a ceramic as a strengthening material is contained in the aluminum-base complex material constituting the finger 23. Furthermore, since the aluminum- base complex material constituting the finger 23 is a forged material to molten metal, cast-blow hole does not occur and a surface roughness can be improved in comparison with a cast product produced with the other making method.
