In a progress-retreat opening-closing driving device 9 causing a pair of beams to perform a progress-retreat operation and an opening-closing operation, both edge sides of a pair of the beams 1 are supported by arms 10 each having a joint 10a capable of turning within a horizontal operation plane involving two directions in which the progress-retreat operation and an opening-closing operation are performed, the joint 10a of each arm 10 and the proximal end side of each post-arm part 10c are driven in a turning manner by serve motors 12a, 12b, further, the elongation 1b on the feed edge side of the beam 1 is inserted into a guide hole 4a in a connected member 4 connected to the distal end of the arm 10 on the feed edge side, and, the feed edge side of each beam 1 is linearly guided at a distance of a progress-retreat stroke or more to a feeding direction. In this way, the driving device for the transfer apparatus can be designed compactly.
