PURPOSE: To form efficiently a transfer film on a body to be transferred which is shaped to have rises on three sides at least around a transfer part, by providing a means for detecting the phase of a cut formed in a heat roll.
CONSTITUTION: When the inner wall 2a of a cut of a rotating heat roll 2 becomes parallel substantially to the rise of a closed part 8a of a face plate 8, a photoelectric sensor 4 detects a slit 3a provided in a disk 3 and makes the rotation of the heat roll 2 stopped. Simultaneously when the heat roll 2 lowers and comes into contact with a transfer material 6, the heat roll 2 starts to rotate again and transfer is executed with the roll advancing on the surface of the transfer material 6. With the rise of the heat roll 2, subsequently, a transfer material pressing arm 5 rises. In succession, feeding of the transfer material 6 is started, the next fluorescent substance layer stops at a prescribed position, a slide table 9 moves backward, and then the face plate 8 whereon the fluorescent substance layer is formed is taken out.
