Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent TOP signal over a long period by providing a belt shape projecting part successively formed along an inner periphery of the belt in the peripheral direction, and disposing a detection part for detecting a position on a part of the belt shape projecting part.
SOLUTION: This transfer belt 61 is provided with a rib 68 successively formed as the belt shape projecting part along the inner periphery of the belt in the peripheral direction of the belt 61A in the endless shape. Then, on a part of the lib 68, a notched part (detection part) 68a is formed for detecting the position. In such a way, when the notched part 68a of the rib 68 is present between a light emitting element and the light receiving element, the light path L is formed and the light from the light emitting element reach the light receiving element. On the contrary, if the rib 68 is present between the light emitting element and the light receiving element, the light path L is interrupted and the light from the light emitting element can not reach the light receiving element. Accordingly, in the case the transfer belt 61 is rotated (moved), the TOP signal is issued, when the light receiving element is changed from a state of receiving no light to the state of receiving the light.
