Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer belt member which has little fluctuation of resistance in a semiconducting region and which has stable resistance without influenced by environmental changes or by applied voltage in a wide resistance region.
SOLUTION: This transfer belt member has a conductive elastic layer containing at least an acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer rubber or chloroprene rubber with its surface modified by irradiation with UV rays. Preferably, the conductive elastic layer further contains ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber and styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber, and a conductive release layer is formed on the conductive elastic layer.
